Netflix + TV Shows (No Spoilers)

Introduction

I have been watching a lot of tv shows lately on Netflix and that I’ve bought on iTunes. I don’t tend to watch live television anymore or use a satellite service… Instead I stream via services such as Netflix, Now TV, Prime Video and iTunes. I own quite a lot of content through my iTunes purchases over the years and I occasionally buy an iTunes Pass to see the latest series after they air on TV. There will be no spoilers in this blog post either – just my opinions on the programs and an overview about what the show is about!

1. The Walking Dead (Season 8)

I’ve been purchasing the show and series passes on iTunes for The Walking Dead since I first began watching a few years ago. For those of you who haven’t seen it, The Walking Dead is a zombie-thriller tv show set after a worldwide epidemic and zombie outbreak. The show has just finished airing season eight on TV and I’ve got to say I have so many questions!! They can’t leave it as it is now as well so I’m looking forward to season nine.

2. Stranger Things (Season 2)

The show Stranger Things blew up when it first launched on Netflix and I have to say I did enjoy season one. I’m not a die-hard fan though as it is a bit strange, hence the title! I haven’t started season two yet but it’s on my watch list for the coming weeks!

3. Black Mirror (Season 4)

I stumbled across Black Mirror in my Netflix recommended shows and accidentally watched season three episode one to begin with! Thankfully it is a show which has no continuous story through the seasons and each episode is stand-alone. I was relieved when I found this out as I was worried I had ruined the show by starting at season three! Some of the ideas within Black Mirror are really intriguing as they seem to be quite technology based and there is potential for these things to come true in years to come! I love this series as they’re like short films and I don’t have to worry if I don’t enjoy one particular episode as the next one is different. I’m currently making my way through season three which has just been released.

4. 3% (Season 2)

This program popped up in my recommended shows on Netflix back when season one came out. I started watching it (and stuck at it, through the dubbed English and subtitles) and I’m hooked. It kind of has a hunger games / divergent feel to it and there is a selection process and tests the citizens go through to reach the ‘offshore’. I really enjoy this show and I’m glad season two is out which I’m currently making my way through.

5. Riverdale (Season 2)

I’ve been a bit late to the game with Riverdale season two… I had planned on watching it every week with my friend Adam but our schedules didn’t always work out as well as the U.K. / U.S. time zone difference. I have seen all of season one and I’m intrigued to find out what happens to the town in the new episodes. It’s a teen drama set in a small town called Riverdale and it is quite an easy watch if that’s what you’re looking for!

6. Designated Survivor (Season 2)

This is a program that caught my attention as soon as it premiered on Netflix and I have been hooked ever since. It’s about a ‘designated survivor’ in parliament who ends up becoming President of the United States of America. He is sprung into the position and has a lot to overcome as the story unfolds. So engaging and I can’t help but watch episode after episode if I have time! A fantastic show!

7. Jane The Virgin (Season 4)

I’ve just binge-watched the whole of Jane The Virgin from season one to four after my friend Jade recommended it to me. I have to say I’m glad I’ve finished watching them all now as I had SO much to catch up on but thoroughly enjoyed it. The storyline is addictive, characters are captivating (and some are very good looking) as well as it still staying quite light hearted and fun! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something to watch.

Summary

I’ve got so many more programs I want to watch including White Collar, Breaking Bad, Suits, Teen Wolf and The Vampire Diaries. I’ll be moving onto one of these at a time once I finish watching the shows I mentioned above.

Are there any shows you are enjoying at the moment? Let me know, I’d love to hear from you! Have a great bank holiday weekend!

  1. Stranger Things Season Two is high up on my list. Guess who bought a season pass to Riverdale for the current season so he could catch up with a certain Welshman? And no, it isn’t fair that you get it on Netflix first, lol.

    1. Ooh! I can’t remember which episode we got to or if I’ve seen any more since with Riverdale. We have the episodes released weekly on Netflix in the U.K.
