In this blog post I wanted to cover everything financial from buying my first home. I did include some of these figures in a past blog post 'I Bought A House!' but I wanted to create a separate post to highlight everything in one place. This previous post was about the whole process of finding out how much money I could borrow, viewing property, agreeing on a price and every step through the process if you wanted a bit more of a detailed read. I am so excited to share this next instalment and update with you. I've been working (with the help of my lovely family and friends) on my house over the past month and my latest renovation video is now live. The first video I featured in the series was a tour of my house without any work completed and there has been quite a lot going on around all of us working full-time. We've taken any opportunity to get working here from evenings during the week to stints on weekends.
So I bought a house back in November and I wanted to feature my first tour video in a separate blog entry. I had included it in my last post about the whole buying process but as I am creating a YouTube renovation series it definitely an entry of its own. This is the very first footage I have of my new house, I wanted to film it every step of the way to be able to remember what it was like and how much progress goes on in the coming months.
I can’t believe I’m writing this post. I’ve been working towards this for so long and I wanted to document the full process from start to finish and recapping what I have done before 2020 to facilitate this process. I have put this post together from journal entries and drafts every day that something significant happened in the journey. Hope you enjoy reading and it gives a bit of insight if you haven’t bought a property before.
This October I am taking part in Month of Miles to raise money for Diabetes UK. I haven't been running in so long so I am a bit nervous about getting back into it. One of my work colleagues Lynne has helped by sending me a couch-to-5K plan with some great warm-up ideas so this should definitely be useful. I have set myself a small target of raising £30 for Diabetes as I know there are many people who are struggling financially at the moment so any donations are really greatly appreciated. I've set my goal of running a full marathon over the month so 26.2 miles. This means I have to run just under a mile a day but I am going to see how I progress as the days go on (I'll likely do much more than this)!
I have recently stumbled across amazing content online from Elsa Rhae & Barron Link on YouTube, their websites, Apple Podcasts and their Instagram accounts. A video was recommended to me on my YouTube home page (thank you algorithm!) which I have embedded below. The video went into detail about isolation in their 13ft Scamp trailer which they live in full time and the effects of a winter snow storm on their daily lives.
Erbology reached out to me about their plant-based, organic products to promote health using natural ingredients. If you have been following my blog for a while now you will know I have been eating a vegan diet since May 2018 and I have seen a huge improvement in my health and energy levels since then. I really believe that how you fuel your body is so important and I was thankful that Erbology was able to provide me with a selection of their products to try and review.
With everything going on in the world right now it's more important than ever to find gratitude wherever possible. I wanted to write a blog post to let you know what I am thankful for within my daily schedule and things that I have appreciated more than ever since March. I think it's fair to say that everyone has been through quite a lot since March with work, finances, health, relocating, job uncertainty, stress and anxiety to name a few. Even though it might seem that things wouldn't get any better at times, I found it really helped to change my mindset on things as much as I could to be more grateful.
Hi everyone! Hope you are well. Today we have the third of the blog posts I drafted back in January where I wanted to review new vegan options in the UK. This one is for the Pizza Hut Vegan Pepperoni option. This one took me a little longer to get to at the start of 2020 as none of the Pizza Hut restaurants around my in Birmingham delivered to my address. I think I managed to get a delivery partner like Uber Eats, Deliveroo or Just Eat to deliver this one thankfully so I didn't have to walk from the city centre to my apartment before trying it.
Hi everyone! Hope you are well. We have another drafted blog post from January today and I wanted to update it and post it regardless of it being about six months late to the game. So KFC has joined the likes of Greggs and other food chains in offering a vegan option in their restaurants. I use to eat KFC myself before I adopted a vegan/plant-based diet in May 2018 (wow, I can't believe it has been over two years now)! My family tend to visit KFC on occasion and I never ate anything if I was going with them as even KFC's fries are cooked in the same oil as the meat unfortunately so the most I would get would be a soft drink.
