So the eagerly awaited Apple Special Event was on Wednesday and there were lots of cool new products and updates discussed! It was definitely the best announcement event they have had in a while and I'll be talking about it in this blog post.
My journey to a minimalist life
This week Deliciously Ella released The Plant Based Cookbook. I pre-ordered it and mine actually arrived Wednesday, a day before the official release. I am really inspired to cook more plant based meals now from receiving these amazing recipes and along with her YouTube channel, app and podcast I've definitely had an overload (in a good way) of Deliciously Ella this week!
Finances and savings is something I have talked about previously on my blog and YouTube channel. I wanted to talk about this again and in particular the government saving schemes for property. I'll be covering a few things in this post including how the government is doing in regards to first time buyers as well as the Help To Buy ISA and Lifetime ISA accounts.
Last week I was asked to visit Ysgol Greenhill School to talk at their Lower School Awards Evening. The purpose of my visit was to speak about my experience with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award throughout my time at Greenhill and how it has helped me in further education and employment. The talk went really well and they have asked me to return to speak at some assemblies in the near future. It was great looking back through some old photos from my expeditions and I wanted to feature it in a blog post.
On Saturday I went to Cosy Club Cardiff and was really impressed with their vegan menu. It is nice being able to go to a restaurant and have multiple choices (here I even got given my own menu) instead of being limited on choices. In this blog post I'll be talking a bit more about Cosy Club and what I ate there.
I went to see Ed Sheeran last week on the opening night of his Cardiff shows at the Principality Stadium (still feels weird not calling it the Millennium Stadium). He had four shows there from Thursday 21st June to Sunday 24th June. His support acts were Jamie Lawson and Anne Marie who were also excellent. I had to speak about it in this blog post and share the images I have as well.
There was a street food festival held last week in Tenby, Pembrokeshire at the South Beach carpark. There were so many amazing vendors serving delicious foods and I went there Saturday afternoon. As you may know I have been eating a plant-based diet for over three weeks and the street food festival had plenty of vegan food on offer! It was open from 12pm to 10pm Friday to Sunday and ran by Street Food Warehouse (Instagram & Twitter) for Pembrokeshire Street Food Festival (Instagram & Twitter).
The Worldwide Developers Conference 2018 keynote took place on Monday and Apple covered a lot! I've spoken about the key features here and focused on the ones that interested me most. David Attenborough narrated a video showing 'the developer' (depicted as a species) attending WWDC and it was brilliant. I was laughing throughout the video and it was really well produced. Apple usually features an opening clip before conferences nowadays and this has to be one of my favourites.
Shawn Mendes The Album has been released today and I’m obsessed. By far my favourite album of his so far and I wanted to write about it! Before I start talking about the music itself I need to mention how beautiful the artwork is for this album. Shawn has been posting a lot on social media in the lead up to this release. The use of floral elements on the album cover as well as in the animated videos, singles artwork and his merchandise is great. From a graphics point of view I'm a huge fan of this style and can't wait to see how he integrates this further into the live concerts.
