Hi everyone, hope you are well. I wanted to post an update on the house renovation as it has been a little while since I did a video. In this instalment I have just done a bit more work myself and mostly preparation for tradespeople to come in and begin the larger projects. I have also used this video to walk through the house and explain the next stages, the work that will be underway soon and upcoming projects. I have also included some photos here of the work I have completed taking off the remaining wallpaper and backing paper from the staircase, porch and living room areas.
Well hello there! It has been a little while since I did an update on the work happening at my new house. I posted a finance video as my last instalment on my YouTube channel and blog post which you can view by clicking here. I spoke about the costs involved in the entire purchasing process including legal fees, deposit, mortgage and additional costs. In this update I'll be walking you through the next stages of work that have happened at the house. This mainly consists of plumbing work, removing the fireplace and remaining kitchen sections as well as checking the heating system and pipes.
I am so excited to share this next instalment and update with you. I've been working (with the help of my lovely family and friends) on my house over the past month and my latest renovation video is now live. The first video I featured in the series was a tour of my house without any work completed and there has been quite a lot going on around all of us working full-time. We've taken any opportunity to get working here from evenings during the week to stints on weekends.
So I bought a house back in November and I wanted to feature my first tour video in a separate blog entry. I had included it in my last post about the whole buying process but as I am creating a YouTube renovation series it definitely an entry of its own. This is the very first footage I have of my new house, I wanted to film it every step of the way to be able to remember what it was like and how much progress goes on in the coming months.
I can’t believe I’m writing this post. I’ve been working towards this for so long and I wanted to document the full process from start to finish and recapping what I have done before 2020 to facilitate this process. I have put this post together from journal entries and drafts every day that something significant happened in the journey. Hope you enjoy reading and it gives a bit of insight if you haven’t bought a property before.
There are so many incredible tiny homes available to view online. YouTube is one of my favourite platforms for inspiration and I have created a playlist of these on my channel. This week I am featuring six tiny homes I have in the playlist and my reasons for bookmarking them. As the months/years go on and I get more inspiration for tiny homes I will continue to update this playlist on my YouTube channel.
After months of work and clearing through my belongings I have finally finished my bedroom and living room. I have included some images and videos in this post to show what I have done with the space and the furniture I've decided to use. I hope you like the bed/living room reveal and the images and videos of it. I am so happy with how everything has turned out.
My bedroom has been decorated and the larger furniture has been moved in. I have the bed, mattress, sofa-bed and television with units. I wanted to document the full move-in process including decorating and stylising my bedroom on my blog so I'll be posting again when there is more progress made. I have popped some images below of the decorated room from different angles with captions.
If you've been following my blog you'll know that I was getting ready to move out of my rented apartment. The key handover took place at the end of January and I thought I'd post photos of the apartment here. I managed to sell a lot of items and recycle, donate and dispose of others. The main reason behind this was that I am scaling down my belongings to move into a converted garage room.
So I've moved today (with just a sofa-bed mattress and bedding) to the new house! I'm going to be blogging the progress time goes on and work is completed on my social media and website! The ceiling has artex applied to it, we have stripped the wallpaper and I'm keeping the flooring as it's high [...]
